Cell Phones: Gift From God or Menace to Society?

Using cell phones has innovated society so much in our time and it is a great thing but can also be create negative outcomes. We can now look up things in a split second and be able to talk to anyone around the world by the push of a button. But we are also becoming very disconnected from the real world.
We are able to talk to anyone and stay connected really easily these days. Many people stay connected to long distance family and friends. Some families are split apart because of military or work and they are able to video chat and text now because of cell phones. If we didn’t have cell phones, people would be completely cut off from their families. We are also able make new friends and create new relationships through the use of a cell phone and social media. So cell phones are a very positive innovation for many people.
Cell phones can also be a very negative thing. Many teens are becoming very disconnected from the world. They walk down the halls looking down at their phones and not looking up talking to others. They avoid talking to people around them by acting like they are texting or get on social media. Teens are unable to create and maintain actual conversations in person now. They feel too awkward and feel it is easier to just type whatever you want to say. This also creates an easy window for cyber- bullies. People can hide behind screens and say whatever they want to someone. They don’t have to face the reactions so it’s easier.  This creates conflicts for many people. A lot of people have commit suicide because of cyber-bullying alone.
All in all, the use of cell phones can be very positive but also very negative. It all depends on your perspective of it. Many teens would believe cell phones are gifts from God. Others may believe they are a menace to society and ruining the way people communicate. There are some who are neutral. They like the use of cell phones but also see the negative effects. Now you can decide. Vote in the poll to the side.

Nailed it!

Growing up I had a really bad habit of biting my nails. I would chew on them any chance I got whether I was nervous or just bored. My nails were reduced to nubs and I always had painful hangnails. I never liked biting my nails but it was a habit I couldn’t break. These last few years though, I have finally been able to break the habit and my nails look great. I have also figured out a new talent of mine.
A few years ago I thought of the great idea of painting my nails to stop biting them. My grandma always wished I would stop and after she passed away I felt I owed it to her to try and stop. So I started out just plain painting my nails one color but along the years I have done many cool and fun designs. Since I have the designs on my nails I don’t want to bite my nails and mess them up. So it helped me stop. Hopefully this helps inspire people to think outside the box and figure out different ways to break their own bad habits. Whatever habit you may have there is some creative or weird way to break it. No matter how weird it seems, if it works you have to at least try it.
I also want to help inspire people to follow their passions and talents. I want to be able to find other girls who love to do their nails like me.  I love doing French tips and trying all kinds of tricks I see on different videos and Pinterest. I have tried ombre where you put different colors on a sponge and dab it on your nail to make an ombre pattern. I also used smaller brushes to make different lines on my nails to create a tiger look. When there were designs I couldn’t do myself or I just wanted to do something special, I went and got my nails done at a nail salon. I got palm trees over ombre on my thumbs once while on vacation. I got flowers on my thumbs another time to celebrate school getting out. Whatever I did, I always tried to put all of my creativity into what I designed. It always made me happy to get the praise from people about my nails. It’s always fun to show your creativity in any way you want. Go ahead and do whatever you feel helps you express yourself.
