Finals Week!

Next week is finals week here at Kennedy high school and everyone is freaking out. Last minute studying, cramming all the stuff you didn’t pay attention to in the beginning of the semester and freaking out over those low grades you know will drop after your exams. I can bet you that no one is prepared for the final exams. As a junior I am completely freaking out because these are the grades colleges will be looking at when you apply. Now is the time to buckle down and study our butts off to pass.
Many people are really angry about the fact that we went on a 2 week break right before finals. We spent the whole break not thinking about school at all. Then we have to come back and take tests on stuff we can barely remember, if at all. All the things we learned in the first few months went out the window along with 2015. Now we have to cram everything we forget back into our brains. So that adds to our stress levels.
Many people are trying to calculate how bad they can do on their exams and still pass the class. This is the time where people freak out about their low grades and bargain with teachers over extra credit. We are all scared of failing our exams and in turn failing a class. If we do we have to re take it and it looks really bad to colleges.
So we all make ourselves sick about studying and cramming to make sure we don’t fail. I’m not saying failing is ok, but I wish taking tests wasn’t such a huge thing for school. There are tons of people who know all the information but do horrible on tests. Our entire school system is based on memorizing things for a test then completely forgetting it once you passed. It is not very effective in the long run.
All in all, I know I’m not the only one freaking out about finals. I wish we had a better way to test our abilities rather than stressful exams. It really takes a big toll on teens health and stress levels. Exams may be the death of us.
